Last Sunday, Jason Wu dressed only one celebrity for the red carpet. The lucky star and his latest muse is Mad Men’s Jessica Pare! Wu told InStyle.com “My jaw dropped when I saw her. Together with her dark hair and a statement red lip, she looked like she jumped out of a beautiful René Gruau drawing! I couldn’t be happier with how she looked—people really took notice.”
It was a night full of colorful glamour at the 64th Prime-Time Emmy Awards. Here are our favorites from the night...
Tina Fey wearing Vivienne Westwood
Julie Bowen wearing Monique Lhuillier
Allison Williams wearing Oscar de la Renta
Julia Louis-Dreyfus wearing Vera Wang
Ginnifer Goodwin wearing Monique Lhuillier
Not only a classic but also a staple in every woman’s closet, the pencil skirt come was in almost every runway for fall 2012. Besides the classic colors, textures and cuts; made designers opt to give this iconic classic a little modern twist. Prabal Gurung for example added a modern and very trendy print to his pencil skirt. On the other hand Jason Wu kept the prints classic but decides to add a sliming effect by using a print and a solid black on the sides. In the case of Viktor and Rolf they decided to give a little modern twist by changing the length of the skirt a bit shorter.

For fall 2012, Wu decided to change things a bit and follow his Chinese
roots. After traveling to Taiwan, him asked himself, 'What is Chinese?' His
conclusion was that there were 3 different Chinas; a military china, a
historical china and the 'Inauthentic' china as he describes the thirties
and forties Hollywood version of China. He is able to incorporate these
ideas and into something new and unexpected from him.
This is the third season in a row where color blocking has been a huge
trend!! Last fall it was all about jeweled tones, this past spring it was
pastel colors were used, and this fall it is all about combining neutrals.
Not only are the shades different this season but also the way the color
block is done. In past seasons it was done by mixing two different items of
clothing, such as a top and pants, both of them solid color. For fall 2012
is all about one piece of clothing doing all the color blocking. The design
highlights further emphasizes or gives one a waist, height, etc. This
season no other designer created this trend better than Narciso Rodriguez.
Invitations have been sending, Designers are giving their collection the finishing touches, and once again
